Hi, I’m Aprajita (uh-PRAH-ji-ta). My name is often new to people, so please don’t worry about getting it right. I’m glad you’re here.

Our emotions aren’t always easy to understand, especially when they feel intense, overwhelming, or hard to regulate. You might notice yourself reacting in ways that don’t fully make sense, feeling unsettled, or finding it hard to feel grounded in yourself, whether you’re a child, an adolescent, or an adult.

In my work, I support nervous system regulation and the ways stress, emotion, and past experience are held in the body. Alongside talk therapy, I bring in music-based and creative approaches to help emotions be processed in a way that feels contained and supported.

A meaningful part of my work is with adults, anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem, and questions of identity and belonging. As a South Asian immigrant and therapist, I bring both lived and clinical understanding of how identity, cultural expectations, and emotionally demanding environments can shape how we experience anxiety, stress, and our connection to ourselves.

I also work closely with neurodivergent children, teens, and families navigating autism, developmental differences, and ADHD. Music-based and sensory-aware approaches reach kids who don’t always have words for
what they’re feeling, and give parents practical tools for the moments when everything feels too much.

In our work together, there’s room to slow down, notice patterns with curiosity, and build tools that help you feel more present, more supported, and more like yourself.

Common questions

Do you work with autistic children, or children with ADHD or developmental challenges?

Yes. A meaningful part of my work is with neurodivergent children, teens, and their families. Music-based and sensory-aware approaches often reach kids who don’t always have words for what they’re feeling, and I work in close coordination with parents and any other specialists who are part of the child’s care.

It means Aprajita is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and practising under clinical supervision while she completes the final requirements for full registration. You’re working with a qualified, regulated therapist whose work is reviewed by an experienced supervisor, an added layer of oversight, not a lower standard of care.

You don’t need any musical background, and it’s never about performing. Music therapy uses sound, rhythm, and creative methods to help process emotion and settle the nervous system, especially when talking alone is hard. With Aprajita it works alongside talk therapy, not instead of it.

Yes. Aprajita works in both English and Hindi, so you can speak in whichever feels most natural, including moving between the two in the same session.

We don’t bill insurance directly. After each session you’ll get a receipt to submit to your provider, many extended health plans cover psychotherapy with a Registered Psychotherapist, so it’s worth checking your plan.
