Music Therapy in Mississauga
Regulated psychotherapy using sound, rhythm, and creative approaches, alongside talk, for children, teens, and adults.
At Nurturing Wellness
Music therapy is a regulated form of psychotherapy that uses sound, rhythm, and creative work alongside talk therapy to help people process emotion and settle the nervous system. We offer it for children, teens, and adults, Neurodivergent children and youth, including autistic children, children with ADHD, and those with global developmental delays and other neurodevelopmental differences. Sessions in English and Hindi, in person and online.
When Words Are Not Enough On Their Own
Most therapy happens through talking. For a lot of people, that works well enough. But sometimes what you’re carrying does not have language yet, because the words feel too small, too big, or too risky to say out loud. Music therapy is for those moments. It gives what you feel another way through.
Neurodivergent children and youth
Teens who shut down in talk therapy but express themselves beyond words.
Adults healing from emotionally unsafe childhoods
People living with anxiety, trauma, and nervous system overwhelm
People looking for a different path when talk therapy hasn’t been enough
Nurturing Wellness also offers child and youth therapy and individual therapy, music therapy sits alongside them, not in place of them.
What Actually Happens in a Session
You do not need to sing, play an instrument, or have any musical background.
Music therapy is gentle, guided, and shaped around you or your child. There is no performance, no pressure, and no “right” way to take part.
We talk.
There is space to share what is going on, how you are feeling, or what your child may be experiencing.
We use sound and rhythm.
This may include listening to music, simple instruments, movement, voice, or play. Everything is guided at a comfortable pace.
We support the body and nervous system.
Music can help slow things down, create safety, and give difficult feelings another way to be expressed.
We work together when needed.
For children, especially neurodivergent children, sessions may include coordination with parents and other care providers.
Why Music Therapy Works
Music therapy is a clinical, evidence-informed approach that uses music within a therapeutic relationship.
Research shows that music therapy can support communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, and nervous system calming.
At Nurturing Wellness, music therapy is provided by an accredited music therapist. It is not sound healing or a spiritual practice. It is regulated psychotherapy that uses music as one of its therapeutic tools.
Meet Your Music Therapist In Mississauga
When emotions feel too big, too tangled, or too difficult to explain, music therapy can offer another way to begin.
As a therapist trained in music therapy and psychotherapy, I support children, teens, adults, and families in exploring emotions through a blend of conversation, sound, rhythm, creativity, and body-aware practices. My work is gentle, trauma-informed, and focused on helping you feel more grounded, regulated, and connected to yourself.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, self-esteem, identity, belonging, and the ways stress can be held in the body. Together, we slow things down, make space for what feels difficult, and build practical tools that help you respond to life with more steadiness and self-understanding.
A meaningful part of my work is also with children, teens, and neurodivergent families navigating autism, developmental differences, ADHD, emotional regulation, and communication challenges. Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, music therapy offers a creative, compassionate space to feel heard, supported, and understood.

Yes. Music therapy for autism has one of the strongest evidence bases in the field: a 2022 Cochrane review found improvements in social interaction and communication for autistic children receiving music-based interventions (Geretsegger et al., 2022). Music therapy for ADHD works along similar lines, using rhythm, structure, and sound to support attention, self-regulation, and emotional expression. At the clinic, our music therapist coordinates with parents and any behavioural, developmental, or speech specialists already part of your child’s care.

No. There’s no performance involved and no musical background required. The work uses music, but it isn’t music lessons. People with no musical background often engage the most freely.
